Communication / Language

Option 1 (OO) A young infant participates in a book sharing focused on pictures and sounds of farm animals.

Option 2 (OO) An infant participates in a book sharing focused on pictures and sounds of farm animals, with opportunities to help turn the book’s pages.

Option 3 (OO) An older infant participates in a book sharing focused on pictures and sounds of farm animals, with opportunities to make animal sounds and help manage the book.

Cognitive

Option 1 (OO) A young infant looks at black and white images.

Option 2 (OO) An older infant looks at book pictures of ducks, with opportunities to notice details.

Self-Regulation

Option 1 (OO) A young infant practices calming down after a mildly stimulating activity with music and movement while held by a caregiver.

Option 2 (OO) An older infant practices calming down after a mildly stimulating activity of music and movement while standing and holding hands with a caregiver.

Social-Emotional

Option 1 (IG) Young infants play with music toys, with caregiver support for noticing each other’s play.

Option 2 (IG) Older infants paint with water in close proximity to each other, with caregiver support for noticing each other’s activities.
