Communication / Language

Option 1 (IG) Toddlers participate in a book sharing about monkeys jumping on the bed.

Option 2 (IG) Toddlers participate in a book sharing that includes opportunities to act out parts of the story with a toy monkey.

Option 3 (IG) Toddlers act out parts of a story during a book sharing.

Cognitive

Option 1 (IG) Toddlers explore what happens to water when they put their foot in a small water puddle and pour water from a small pail.

Option 2 (OO) A toddler explores what happens to water when different small animal figures are dropped into water and water is poured into a tub of water.

Option 3 (IG) Toddlers begin washing dolls.

Self-Regulation

Option 1 (IG) Toddlers observe how a caregiver calms down after doing a mildly stimulating activity.

Option 2 (IG) Toddlers practice calming down with caregiver support after engaging in an exciting activity.

Option 3 (IG) Toddlers describe and demonstrate how to calm down after independently engaging in an exciting activity.

Social-Emotional

Option 1 (IG) Toddlers participate in open-ended water play with opportunities to notice what peers are doing.
